Daily extended exesive use will take it's toll on the CPU, eventually deteriorating it's life expectancy for the average users PC. :o I recommend a couple hours or less (give or take) 'once in a while' at best. Leave these 3D SS's running constantly for long periods 100% CPU usage and. Hope these suggestions 40 Kevin LOL! Sarcasm or not, funny comment! Are you having visions of the ultimate "Melt-Down"?! If the contrast/darkness is a system wide issue, than you may want to consider replacing your video card or (God forbid) your monitor itself.

If these suggestions don't work, other than tweaking your actual PC color settings in 'desktop properties', which I don't recommend unless you know what your doing or have the option of resetting to default, you may need to consider updating your video driver(s) if you haven't lately. If not or very little, try turning up the contrast a bit and/or the brightness of your monitor itself in small increments so as not to off-set the rest of your systems visual appeal/level. The visual even matches time with the sound effects! Go into 3D-Fireplace SS settings and push the 'Gamma' slider all the way to the right, increasing it to it's maximum. Not sure what your viewing, but I see plenty of realistic sparks as a result of the wood crackling etc. Why no response? Think I'll start a Forum topic on that. I've seen Moderators respond in the forums, but no one who seems to have the authority do take action on good suggestions.

Thanks for the heads up about The 'mystery watch' as well as it's 'rippling water' one are not bad at all and personally I would prefer using them above today's offer any time. The price of 14.95 is again somebodies plot to make easy money of simple people that will pay anything asked and of which some even ask to raise the price. The little sparks and hot air flows are a nice addition but all in all.
Not to badly done but nothing to really gasp either. Nor is there anything really happening with the wood as far as I could notice so that leaves a bit of flame effects. The sound loop is way to small and doesn't really add to the realism. It's a pic of a fireplace, a couple pieces of wood and flames.That's it. For one thing the idea is that it kicks in when you're not around so who is going to brighten the screen and for 's meant to prevent burn-in which is more likely to happen if there's a stationary BRIGHT image. It's way to dark to make out the details and sorry but if you have to brighten your screen settings for the sake of the screen saver then you've really lost it.
